The report for Branch river trip
15 January

Arriving at the Rainbow meeting place at 10 am as informed was 16 vehicles ready to roll. The weather was showery and cold but that cleared after a while to a beautiful sunny day.
Off we went to our turn off point, down a long gravel road.

Soon we were going up a very steep track. Most of the vehicles managed to get up, just a couple needed a tow, and then carrying on upwards we came to a small clearing and with some expert instructions from Sav, we all fitted into the jigsaw.
On returning down we stopped at Griegs hut area for lunch and a time to Catch-up after the Christmas break.

Going back down the track we did a bit of branch clearing. Peter had a nifty saw to do the job.

Then we continued back to the Main Road and headed of up to Red Hill Hut. The road was ok. The old hut was very quaint with some interested stories left behind on the walls of people who had passed through over the years.

On the way back down we looked at an Old Clay cottage and shed.

We drove further down the road and turned off and followed the pylons through to the main road.

There was a chance that there could be some Mud but that didn’t happen because there had been no rain.
We headed off about 5pm. A very pleasant trip.

Jim and Anne.
(two old farts with Grey Power cards but not a COMPUTER.)
