DAY 1
It all started on a Saturday morning when we met at Millers Acre. I was very surprised that there were only 5 cars that were participating in the first day. We had called the guy that owned the sheep place thing where we were going through, at first he said no but because there were only 5 cars we were allowed to go. It wasn’t really a snow trip but more of a dust trip. We stopped at a place for some morning tea, the place had some swing poles were swings could be attached to but there were no swings (poor me). At the place there was a toilet (finally). We continued our trip with more and more dust. As I was getting hungry we stopped for some lunch. There was also a toilet which I thought was wonderful. We continued again, during that part of the trip we stopped at a house (which was made out of stinky, yucky poo!) I was glad when we left that house. We suddenly stopped at the end of a bridge which I thought was just stupid, it turned out that there was a metal rope in front of the bridge! So we had to go into the water (which was under the bridge) and we got safely to the other side. Finally we went onto Jollies pass and I must say it was a jolly good ride. The rest of the trip was bumpy, lumpy and of course dusty. But it was worth the trip as we stopped at Hanmer Springs!!!!!
DAY 2
After a nice night of pampering and swimming we were refreshed and ready to go. Of course my dad (Rene) was the last to be there so here I am writing the trip report. Anyway, we started our trip with 17 cars!!!!! Which was definitely more than on day 1. We stopped at a lake for morning tea and there was a tiny bit of snow next to the road. We continued again and this time there was quite a bit of snow on the road. It was very slippery and because my dad hadn’t put on the snow chains I was panicking. Finally we stopped and I jumped out of the car. My dad put his chains on and all the other people did as well. I couldn’t bear to watch the cars going through the slippery track. When it was Leo’s turn he almost slipped off the mountain. I wasn’t stupid so I walked up the mountain with some other people who were as smart as me. All the cars finally reached the top of the mountain. As we were going down again, the other group which was going up the mountain, was totally stuck, so we had to wait for ages and ages. In that time we rolled down a part of the mountain and had to walk up again (this was what most of the kids were doing). We continued again and stopped at another place, because it was the end of the trip. We said our goodbyes and we were off, off to home. It was an awesome trip and I definitely enjoyed it. I’m sure that we are going to go next year.
